Thanks to her passion for Chemistry, Shantae achieved a first class honours MChem degree and now works at AstraZeneca.

Shantae’s passion for Chemistry led her to choose the 4 year MChem Forensic Chemistry integrated masters degree at the University of Lincoln. During her final year, Shantae undertook a placement in the Quality Department at Bard Pharmaceuticals, testing pharmaceutical ingredients and product batches. Since graduating, she has been working at AstraZeneca as a Chemical, Manufacturing and Controls (CMC) Regulatory Affairs Associate in Cardiovascular Renal and Metabolic (CVRM).

Shantae says ‘the best part about my job is being able to register medicines into different markets globally to allow patients to live the life they deserve. I have a real thirst for knowledge, I absolutely love learning about new medicines, how they work and what diseases and viruses they help with.’

‘My time at the University of Lincoln has supported my career by expanding on my knowledge from A Levels further, and enhancing my personal and practical skills I required for industry.’

Shantae was recently celebrated by University of Lincoln Vice Chancellor, as part of the university’s International Day of Women & Girls in Science celebrations.
