What are you doing now you have graduated from the University of Lincoln?: Shortly after graduating from the University of Lincoln with an MSc in Management with HR in February 2022, I have been actively pursuing my passion for Human Resources and Talent Acquisition. I accepted a full-time job offer in May of 2022 in Talent Acquisition at Amazon Web Services (AWS).
How did your time at the University of Lincoln support your career?: The knowledge, skills, and experiences gained during my studies have been instrumental to my career growth and success in the HR field in the UK.
What are the best parts of your job?: The best parts of my job revolve around making a difference in people’s lives, contributing to an inclusive workplace, continuous learning, innovative thinking, and building relationships.
What inspired you to study at the University of Lincoln (or one of its predecessor institutions)?: The University of Lincoln was an attractive choice for me over the seven admissions I received because of the university’s commitment to providing a supportive, diverse, and academically enriching environment. I felt welcomed even before accepting the admission offer.
What was your favourite thing about being a student at the University of Lincoln (or one of its predecessor institutions)?: My favourite thing about being a student at the University of Lincoln is how the University embraces diversity and has a multicultural student body, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for international students. Also, the engaging teaching methods, even when they were online due to COVID-19, made the academic journey more rewarding.
Whilst you were at University, or as a recent graduate, did you access the Careers and Employability Service?: Yes
Additional Information: The university provided career support services, including resume building, interview preparation, and job search assistance. These resources helped me prepare for my career in the UK.
What would you say to a prospective student thinking of applying to the University of Lincoln?: Apart from being known for its academic excellence and quality of education, the University of Lincoln offers a vibrant student life with various clubs, societies, and events, giving students the chance to engage in extracurricular activities, make friends, and create lasting memories and also provides a supportive, enriching, and inclusive environment for students.
If you could give our current students any top tip for after graduation and their careers, what would it be?: My advice to the current students is to embrace the excitement of continuous learning, remain curious, and take charge of your own growth. By doing so, you’ll position yourself for a successful and fulfilling career journey. Remember, your journey doesn’t end with graduation, it’s just the beginning.
