What are you doing now you have graduated from the University of Lincoln?:
After graduating from the University of Lincoln, I am now the Head of Talent, Employer Branding & D&I at Taboola. In this role, I shape and execute strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent, enhance our employer brand, and promote diversity and inclusion. My work involves creating compelling content, managing our presence on various platforms, and engaging with employees to share their experiences. I also develop programs and policies to support a diverse and inclusive workplace. This role is highly relevant to the marketing, advertising, and publishing sections of the university, as it involves skills in content creation, audience engagement, and brand promotion. My experience and knowledge in these areas allow me to contribute valuable insights that align with these disciplines.
How did your time at the University of Lincoln support your career?:
My time at the University of Lincoln was instrumental in shaping my career, particularly through practical experience, networking, soft skills development, and a focus on diversity and inclusion. Participating in projects and internships allowed me to gain hands-on experience in talent management and employer branding, equipping me with practical skills and insights directly applicable to my current position. The university also offered numerous opportunities to connect with industry professionals, faculty, and fellow students, helping me build a robust professional network that has been invaluable throughout my career. Engaging in group work, presentations, and extracurricular activities helped me develop crucial soft skills such as communication, teamwork, and leadership, which are vital in my role as Head of Talent, Employer Branding & D&I. Additionally, the university’s emphasis on diversity and inclusion inspired my passion for these areas and provided a strong understanding of their importance, which I now champion at Taboola.
What are the best parts of your job?:
Impact on People: I have the privilege of shaping the careers and experiences of our employees, helping them grow and succeed in their roles. Creative Freedom: I enjoy the creative aspects of developing and executing employer branding strategies, including crafting compelling narratives and engaging content. Promoting Diversity and Inclusion: Leading initiatives that foster a diverse and inclusive workplace is deeply fulfilling, as I can see the positive impact these efforts have on our company culture. Strategic Influence: Being involved in strategic planning and decision-making allows me to contribute to the long-term success and growth of Taboola. Collaboration: I work with a dynamic team of talented professionals, which makes the job enjoyable and constantly provides new learning opportunities. If you could give our current students any top tip for after graduation and their careers, what would it be?:
Embrace Continuous Learning and Adaptability Research and Data: The professional landscape is constantly evolving, with a significant emphasis on continuous learning and adaptability. According to the World Economic Forum, 50% of all employees will need reskilling by 2025 due to technological advancements. LinkedIn’s Workplace Learning Report 2021 also highlights that employees who engage in learning new skills are 39% more likely to feel productive and successful.
Personal Achievement Using STAR Methodology: Situation: When I joined Taboola as Head of Talent, Employer Branding & D&I, the company was undergoing a major shift in its branding strategy to attract top talent. Task: My task was to develop and implement a comprehensive employer branding strategy that highlighted our company culture, values, and commitment to diversity and inclusion. Action: I conducted extensive market research, collaborated with cross-functional teams, and created engaging content for multiple platforms. I also introduced diversity and inclusion initiatives to ensure our workplace was welcoming and supportive for all employees. Result: As a result, we saw a 30% increase in quality applications within six months, improved employee engagement scores by 25%, and our diversity metrics showed a significant improvement with a 20% increase in diverse hires. By continuously learning and adapting, I was able to make a substantial impact at Taboola. My advice to current students is to embrace this mindset, as it will help you navigate and thrive in your career.
What inspired you to study at the University of Lincoln (or one of its predecessor institutions)?:
I wanted to get away from London and I loved the look of the City. The University was still very much developing and it was the greatest decision I ever made.
What was your favourite thing about being a student at the University of Lincoln (or one of its predecessor institutions)?:
Joining the University of Lincoln Rugby team. They had many traditions that were directly linked to the history of the city and it allowed me to really learn about Lincoln.
What would you say to a prospective student thinking of applying to the University of Lincoln?:
The University of Lincoln offers an exceptional environment for both academic and personal growth. During my time there, I found the curriculum to be comprehensive and aligned with industry needs, providing a solid foundation for my career. The university’s emphasis on practical experience through projects and internships allowed me to gain hands-on skills that were directly applicable in my professional journey. Did you undertake a placement (this could be a short term work placement, a year in industry or a study abroad placement)?:
During my time at the University of Lincoln, I completed a one-year placement teaching at a school for young children with disabilities. This experience was incredibly enriching and supported my career in several significant ways. It helped me develop essential skills such as patience, empathy, and adaptability, as I tailored my teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of my students. Gaining hands-on experience in a real-world setting allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge practically, deepening my understanding of the educational environment. The placement also honed my problem-solving and creativity, as I often needed to devise innovative strategies to engage my students. Working closely with other educators, support staff, and parents taught me the importance of teamwork and communication. This experience deepened my commitment to diversity and inclusion, inspiring me to advocate for these values in my professional career, particularly in my current role at Taboola. Overall, the placement was a transformative experience that significantly contributed to my personal and professional development, preparing me for a successful career and instilling values that continue to guide my work today.

The physical demands of the sport instilled in me resilience and determination, qualities that have been crucial in my career. Balancing academic responsibilities with training and matches honed my time management skills, enabling me to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively. The sense of community and camaraderie within the club allowed me to build lasting relationships and a valuable professional network. Additionally, the strategic thinking and quick decision-making required in rugby are directly applicable to my role at Taboola.
