Sitara studied Games Computing at the university and is now Head of Studio at No Brakes Games
Avid gamer Sitara Shefta developed her childhood passion for gaming during her time at the University of Lincoln. Graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Games Computing in 2011, she used her university experiences of the development process to thrive in the games industry, climbing the ranks to Head of Studio at No Brakes Games.
“Playing games has been something I have enjoyed since a very early age and the games computing degree at Lincoln gave me the opportunity to learn about how games are made and the huge range knowledge and skills required to make them.”
“My degree provided me with a good foundation in programming, design, 3D art, and animation and how all of these elements make a game. This knowledge is vital to my current role as I understand the processes my team use. I particularly enjoyed the design modules on the degree which involved pitching an original concept for a game, presenting this on paper, and then working on a prototype. This allowed me to develop my skills, but it was also akin to what it’s like actually like developing games in the industry.”
