Charlie completed his BSc (Hons) Sport and Exercise Science and MSc Sport Science at the University of Lincoln and now is a Trainee Respirator Practitioner for the NHS. He also undertook a range of internships at local football clubs as Sport Scientists and started his own business.

Charlie made the decision to study at Lincoln for his undergraduate degree, BSc Sport and Exercise Science based on his visit to an Open Day. ‘When I came to visit, I really liked how small the city was in comparison to others such as Leeds or Sheffield. Additionally, all of the lecturers were really friendly on open days which made the whole experience feel a lot more personal.’

His favourite thing about his student experience was that ‘the course was smaller in comparison to other universities I had visited which meant lecturers knew most of the students on a first name basis. This made it very easy to ask for help and guidance on an assignment and lecturers would often go out of their way to help you where they could.’

After graduating in 2018, Charlie began work and then decided to return to higher education and pursue a career in sports. He applied and was accepted onto the MSc Sport Science and graduated with his master’s in 2021. Alongside postgraduate study, Charlie secured and completed a Sports Science internship with Lincoln FC Academy and First Team, started his own business as a Sports Massage Therapist, and then went on to complete an internship at Boston United FC as a Lead Sport Scientist.

Since 2021, Charlie has worked as a Healthcare Assistant in the NHS and is now a Trainee Respiratory Practitioner.
