Emily studied BSc (Hons) Psychology with Forensic Psychology and specialised at postgraduate level by continuing onto MSc Forensic Psychology. Since graduating she has completed her PGCE and is now a qualified Teacher of Psychology and Sociology.

The first university that Emily visited was Lincoln and from that first sight she knew it that the right place for her. Emily studied both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, completing her BSc (Hons) Psychology with Forensic Psychology in 2018 and continuing onto her MSc Forensic Psychology to specialise further in her chosen subject. Graduating in 2019, Emily went on to complete her PGCE and is now a Psychology and Sociology with QTS (Qualified teacher status).

When asked what inspired her to study at the University of Lincoln, Emily said ‘It was the first university I visited and it was not only the fact that I could easily walk everywhere, but mainly the library that sold it for me – the huge building, the books… it just felt right.’ Her favourite thing about being a student at the University of Lincoln was the ‘sense of belonging’, she joined the badminton society and met friends for life who she still meets up with years after graduating.

Emily’s top tip for prospective and current students is:

‘Join a society- whether it’s academic, sporty or just fun! You will meet so many new people and it will open you up to opportunities to join the committee which has great employability prospects for you.

I was the President of the Badminton Society for 2 years, as well as a Cluster Rep in my final year, which gave me many employability skills such as communication, leadership and public speaking skills.’
