“Studying at the University of Lincoln truly was a life-changing experience. It gave me a new job and a new life.”
“The University of Lincoln offers an outstanding student experience from day one of your study right to the end – the graduation ceremony was a moment I will never forget, hosted at the beautiful and historic Lincoln Cathedral! The University of Lincoln is the place where you will find a friendly and supportive academic community and where you will be able to achieve your full potential and transform from being a student to an adult equipped with the right knowledge to start your next fascinating life chapter.”
“During both undergraduate and postgraduate study, the University created many challenges to keep me motivated and opportunities to make me feel recognised and valued.”
Kamila’s advice to graduates is:
- Use the Careers and Employability Service at the University of Lincoln and sign up for the Graduate Internship Scheme.
- Make sure you set up your LinkedIn profile and be active on it. Make sure you create at least 2 relevant and content-reach posts each week. Be sure to connect with the directors from the companies you are interested in.
- Sign up for local networking events. Networking is a great opportunity for increasing your employability and taking your name out there. You never know who you meet next.
- You will need a professional CV. Be sure you have one before you graduate. It’s a good practice to revisit it before you start looking for a new job. You may find yourself adding and correcting things.
- Don’t be afraid of using the knowledge gained during your time at the university. Attend professional webinars and take an active part, and share your knowledge. You never know you may meet your new employer there.
- Be confident you graduated from a nationally recognised university, and be proud of your achievements.
- Good luck!
